Oxygen Man Books is a publisher of quality speculative fiction, with an emphasis on weird and horror literature.

We are an outfit dedicated to bringing you the finest reads we can muster. Though we are new we are well-regarded and our personnel are experienced hands.

Owner and managing editor Duane Pesice was formerly with Planet X Publications, the publishers of the Test Patterns and Test Patterns pulps series of anthologies. He is a full time writer, authoring both fiction and nonfiction for a variety of organs.

He is assisted from time to time by interested bystanders and has been known to use the editorial ‘we’ as a form of address.

Our first book, Damnit Carl! And Other Halloween Tales, by Matthew St Cyr, debuted Halloween 2019, with the trade paperback edition debuting in May 2020.

It’s a collection of spookily witty verse and charming illustrations, reminiscent of Silverstein or Gahan Wilson, suitable for children of all ages.

Our second book, A Walk In A Darker Wood, is out now, with the third, the two-volume set Nightmares in Yellow, a tribute to the late Joseph S. Pulver, Sr., due in late spring 2021.

Thanks for stopping by — we’ll have plenty more to announce before long, including a book of poetry from Scott Thomas and fiction from Joe Pulver, plus a line of chapbooks from the owner, and much more!

Currently we are soliciting manuscripts for The Dark Heart of the Wood, our second Folk Horror anthology. We pay 25$ for accepted tales from 2500-5500 words, with a folk horror theme. Standard ms format, doc, docx, rtf only. Poetry also published, for negotiable rates. Sub to moderanathotmaildotcom. Closes 4/30/2021.
